| ABSTRACT |

Concrete sculptures in the Garden of Eden, a historic folk art site in Lucas, KS, recently have been restored by the Kohler Foundation. The site was created between 1907 and 1928 and now draws about 8000 visitors a year. The article discusses the artist, Samuel P. Dinsmoor; his motivations and methods; the site’s tenuous history; and the processes used to return the unique artwork to its original brilliance.
